OUR HISTORY
Church History
In November of 1979, the late Evangelist Christine McCaskill and four members, founded House of Prayer and Deliverance Church, GEAFT, Inc. In 1980 Evangelist McCaskill was ordained by Apostle Quander Wilson and began Pastoring in the home of the Quarles family. Pastor McCaskill preached the word of God under the Anointing. As the ministry grew in membership, the church began to seek God for a new place of worship and He heard their prayers.
In December of 1984, a church building was purchased at 73 Wallace Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Dr. McCaskill continued to serve as Senior Pastor until her retirement in 2010, when she passed the baton to Pastor Ulysses John Youngblood, Sr. God ordered his footsteps and commissioned him to seek a new place of worship. Under his leadership, the church was re-established as, The Abundant Life Fellowship Ministries, Incorporated, located on two corner lots in a very diverse community at 195-199 North Main Street, Ansonia, Connecticut. The Lord has blessed the ministry tremendously. On the campus of The Abundant Life Fellowship Ministries, Inc. we house a rectory, clubhouse, four car garage and a separate lot for parking.
Our Campus features the beautiful C. McCaskill banquet hall that is available for wedding receptions, bridal showers, birthdays and other special occasions. The “ALFM” café offers a delicious array of great food, snacks and beverages.
The Abundant Life Fellowship Ministries, Inc. offers holistic programming for youth empowerment, health and wellness, family outreach programs that consist of serving thousands of meals to the homeless, a wellness center, youth dance ministries, and entrepreneurship (mentoring).

Bishop
Ulysses J Youngblood Sr.
Bishop Ulysess J Youngblood, Sr. is a Native of Charleston, SC. Bishop Youngblood is married to Lady Leslie Youngblood. He is the father of five children and has eight grandchildren. Bishop Youngblood is the Senior Pastor of The Abundant Life Fellowship Ministries (formerly known as House of Prayer and Deliverance Church). An anointed visionary and a dedicated man of God, Bishop Youngblood has served in many roles in the church over the years.
Overseer
Christine McCaskill
Overseer Christine McCaskill was a
spirit-filled and spirit-led preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was the Founding Pastor and Overseer of The House of Prayer and Deliverance Church, where she served faithfully for more than 30 years. The Overseer had an extraordinary and sincere love for all people and we will sincerely miss her.

Leslie K. Youngblood, DNP MSN, BSN, BSBA, RN
First Lady Dr. Leslie K. Youngblood is a wife, mother, and grandmother who gladly serves beside her husband, Bishop Ulysses J. Youngblood, Sr. Together; they have a vision to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to improve the well-being of all people and to provide programs that will enhance the entire being....
